Blood Born (The Dark Hills Series Book 1) Page 7

He buried his face into my neck, causing me to gasp in shock. “Perfect. Fucking perfect.” He groaned against my skin. His entire demeanor changing. He pressed his lips to the nape of my neck, sending a bolt of lightning through my body. I felt myself quiver, cursing myself for the reaction. I felt him smile against my skin. “How is this for boring?” He muttered softly.

He grabbed me by my hips and spun us, sending my back straight into the wall again. He rested his arm above me and used his other hand to tuck up under my shirt. He grabbed my waist and pinned me down. The feeling of his hand on my bare skin was enough to make me tremble. The anger and violence I had felt coursing through my veins quickly melting into lust, and he undoubtedly could tell.

He removed his arm from above me and brought his hand to my face, using his thumb to wipe the blood from my lower lip. Instinctively I parted my lips, letting an almost relieved sigh flow from between them. His eyes narrowed on them as I did, letting me see the look I constantly tried to imagine. His eyes glossed over, filled with desire. A chill hit my spine as I looked upon them. Their frozen blue color filled with need.

I opened my mouth slightly, trying to formulate words, but was cut off by his lips crashing into my own with an insatiable hunger. All of my thoughts instantly turning into mush, every will to fight him gone. I reached my hands up, wrapping them around his neck, letting my fingers tangle in his hair, pulling him into me. Desperately trying to get closer to the heat that now flowed from him. He groaned into my mouth, snaking his hand up my chest. Cupping my breast in his callused hand, I let a small whimper escape. The response fueling the aggressive movement of his lips on mine.

The pad of his thumb circled around my nipple as he kissed me fiercely, devouring me like he had been dying of hunger. Pressing my chest into his hand, I pulled his hair, desperately trying to drag him from my lips. I felt him smile mischievously against my mouth, fully understanding what my desperate gesture was trying to convey. He pulled his hand from underneath my shirt and hoisted me up. I wrapped my legs around him, feeling his arousal press against me, making a flood of heat travel through me, pooling at my dripping core.

Still holding me against the wall, he buried his face into my neck, kissing and biting his way down to my chest, drawing blood in spots. I leaned my head back, granting him easier access as he did, lost in the euphoric feeling rushing through me, my insides twisting. I slowly rocked my hips against him, begging to feel him.

He grabbed the collar of my shirt and pulled on it viciously, ripping it from my body. Leaving my entire upper half exposed to him. Quickly he lowered his head, pulling my nipple into his mouth. I gasped, now desperately rocking against him, my pussy begging to feel him. He groaned against my flesh and pressed himself into me, his hard cock now pressed tight against me through our clothes. I whined.

“I want to feel you.” I moaned softly, struggling to get the words out.

But it left me ignored, as he continued to swirl his tongue around my swollen peak. Growing frustrated, I untangled my fingers from his hair and reached for the waistband of his jeans, fumbling to unbutton them. He lifted his head and chuckled.

“Patience, little one.” He cooed against my collarbone.

I groaned in protest, continuing with my quest to free him. With one last pull, the button popped open, and I wasted no time unzipping them, pushing them from his hips. I wiggled my fingers down under his boxers, and he sighed, fiercely claiming my lips again, backing up a fraction, giving my hand room to move.

Reaching down, I took his throbbing member in my hand, letting out a satisfied groan. Slowly I ran my fingers along his shaft, following the pulsing vein. Carefully exploring him, trying to solidify every inch to memory. I rubbed the pad of my thumb gently over his swollen head, and he jerked, pushing himself hard against my hand. He reached down, pulling my hand away, his breathing ragged and quick.

He dropped me to my feet and grabbed the belt loops of my jeans, ripping them down my legs, exposing my dripping wet pussy. He sucked in a breath, closing his eyes for a minute. When he finally opened them, his stare was animalistic, frightening. He pulled the shirt from his shoulders and examined me like a prize he had won. His gaze causing me to melt.

He shredded the jeans from my legs and dropped to his knees, grabbing my hips aggressively. Placing his lips to my pubic bone, I heard him growl against my skin.

  “MINE.”

Pushing my thighs apart, he buried his face between my lips, flicking his tongue against my swollen clit. I arched my back and let out a moan which he immediately took as an invitation to do it again, before pulling it between his lips to suck on it. My entire body shook, feeling like an inferno was erupting from inside of me. He licked along my slick opening and groaned. Before I knew it, he was lapping up my wetness, drinking from me like he was dying of thirst, my core rewarding him with more at every lick. My entire body quivering, winding up so tight I swore I’d explode.

“I’m going to—” Was all I could get out before I felt his fingers slide inside of me, hooking up towards my pubic bone. I bucked my hips against his hand, throwing my head back, reaching my hands down to claw at his shoulders. His fingers still curling inside of me, beckoning me to cum. My mind was foggy, all rational thought was slipping, and the last thing I heard myself say was,

  “Not without you.”

Lifting me again, I felt him thrust inside of me, slamming me back into the bricks. My fingers raked down his back, leaving bloody trenches behind. Mercilessly he started fucking me, his cock slamming into me fiercely, filling me completely. His quick and labored breath next to my ear heightening the coiling feeling inside of me.

“I’m sorry.” He groaned, thrusting harder into me, then holding still. I felt a pain course through my neck, and before I could even react, I realized what was happening. He was marking me. I cried out, a blood-curdling scream that echoed through the alleyway.

My neck felt like it was on fire, and an unfamiliar feeling flooded me. Every feeling in my body becoming more intense. I was feeling what he was feeling. His hunger, his need, his fear. All of it rushing into me like a title wave. My head was spinning, feeling like I would black out, then I felt him moving again. Stroking my insides again. I whined a little, feeling his arousal and my own. I shook under his grasp, my neck throbbing in pain.

“Come on little one, don’t give up on me now.” He cooed into my ear. His voice almost sounded loving.

I swallowed hard, feeling him thrust into me again, quickly bringing the heat in my core back. The feeling of both of our climax approaching rushed me quickly, and I frantically rocked my hips to match him, the pressure building up rapidly. I let out a scream, throwing my head back violently as a sweet release escaped me, my body exploding around him. His cock jerking inside of me, spilling himself into my belly.

I felt a wave of exhaustion overcome me, and I grew limp under his grasp. He released me, letting me fall to my feet, my legs wobbling. He took a step back, his eyes wide, and a sick look twisting over his face.

“No!” He shouted into the sky. Grabbing a fist full of his hair in each hand, pulling it, turning away from me. I struggled to catch my breath, feeling his frustration in my chest. A sick feeling pooled in my stomach.

“Dominic?” I heard a man’s voice call out.

My gut twisted. His name bouncing off my mind. I let out a gasp, the reality of what just happened screaming in the forefront of my mind. I frantically reached for the bloody swollen flesh at the nape of my neck. The sudden realization that my chest was free of pain for the first time in months. I let out a terrified whine, and he turned to me again. His face immediately softening, his eyes apologetic. I felt tears well up into my eyes, and without a second thought, I changed.

Running full speed away from him. My chest heaving as I ran, struggling to catch my breath.

“Stop!” I heard his voice link in my mind, leaving me to shutter.

  I couldn’t look back. I couldn’t. Something in me d
rove me to run. Far away from him. Far away from the man that tried to kill me. The man I tried to kill.

“No, no, no, no.” My wolf cried out in my mind. Trying to convince myself that this was a dream. Praying I would wake up in a puddle of sweat, alone in my bed. But I wasn’t waking. I wasn’t dreaming.

My chest was burning, and my lungs were screaming for air as I collapsed on the front porch of my house, my human form quickly taking hold.

“Aine!” I heard Caireen call out as blackness overtook me. “Aine! Can you hear me?”

  What Have I Done?

  Dominic~

I raked my fingers through my hair for what seemed like the millionth time as I redressed myself. Regret and confusion pooling in my thoughts as a sober mind returned. I looked down the alley in the direction she took off in, desperately wanting to follow her, but also relieved that she was gone. Leaving no trace that she was here at all. I don’t know I was expecting, a glass slipper? I shook the thought from my head as I finished fastening my belt.

“Dom?” I heard Ethan’s voice call out again as he exited the back entrance of the bar.

The enormous metal door slammed shut, and he slowly stepped down the concrete steps, looking at me with confusion. “Just what I need” I thought sarcastically.

Someone to come and witness my shame and downward spiral. Someone to judge. I tried to regain some composure, and combed my hair back with my fingers, trying to salvage my appearance a little.

I knew I needed to keep quiet about what had happened, no good would come from the pack knowing what I had just done. It would make it worse on me. Worse for them. Until I had time to digest the situation and find a way out of it, I need to keep in the dark, even if it meant lying to everyone around me.

I may be a piece of shit, but lying wasn’t something I stood for. I always strived to be transparent with my pack, I needed to. It was my role to lead them, how could I expect them to follow if they couldn’t trust me? Unfortunately, now had come a time where I would have to lie to them, at least for a little while. My only hope was I could rectify the situation before the word got out.

The magnitude of what has now been done would absolutely cause a frenzy. I knew some would take it better than others, but in a whole, I just marked my pack for death. Almost literally. Who knows how many of them are left out there. I already knew there was two of them, but that might not have been all. And if there were more, they had the power to bring hell down on all of us. I had just marked myself for death without even taking a moment to think beforehand. It just happened, all of it, like instinct took over and I was no longer myself, no longer in control.

The only thing that mattered in that moment was her. Not who she was, not who I was. Not how dangerous the whole situation was. Just her. Her presence, her touch, her smell, all the sounds she made, the only thing that mattered that she was mine. And I needed to make sure anyone who ever came across her knew that she belonged to me. A possessive urge I could neither explain to overcome. Such an intense feeling that made me feel free, but also trapped, and I liked it. Far more than I should.

“Man, I’ve been looking everywhere for you, what the hell?” Ethan asked, exasperated as he approached me. Eyeing me up and down, taking in the wreck that I was now.

I looked down to assess the damage of the night. I looked disheveled, blood covering my pants, my shirt that was partially torn around the neck, my arms and back covered in bloody trenches from her nails. My appearance was leaving absolutely no question of the events that took place. I looked like I had been in a fight; I looked like I had just fucked in an alley.

“Why?” I grumbled, leaning up against my bike, combing my fingers through my hair, desperately hoping it would help ease some of my frustration, but to no avail. Hoping that if I kept a cool and calm demeanor, Ethan wouldn’t question it too much.

“Oh, I don’t know! Maybe because you took off out of here drunk out of your mind like you had some death wish. We thought you had wrecked and were dead in a ditch somewhere!”

Ethan’s face softened a little from the anger it held, and it looked more like worry. Concern. He straightened out his jacket and grabbed a smoke. Lighting it with a sigh, like he finally had a chance to breathe now that they had found me.

I rolled my eyes, pushing back the now throbbing pain building in my head from the copious amounts I had drank in the last twenty-four hours. A part of me appreciated that he worried about me. I mean, who wouldn’t be happy to know that people cared about whether they lived or died? As of this moment though, my mind filled with so many more problems than what could have happened. With a sigh, I looked over to Ethan who was standing, arms crossed, next to my bike, glaring. Occasionally unlacing his arms from in front of his chest to take a drag off of his cigarette.

“So how did you find me here?” I finally asked him, trying to break the uncomfortable silence.

Ethan and I had been close since we were young teenagers. A team. He’s my beta. He was the one person I could vent to, talk to. I mean really talk to. He was the person I shared with, when I felt like sharing, but right now I felt a wall being built between us, a void being created. Leaving me with an uncomfortable feeling of being around him. Every silent moment stacking one more brick between us.

His expression quickly morphed into a humorous one, and he let out an amused snort. “I actually got a call from Missy, saying I need to come get you.”

He laughed softly, shaking his head, no doubt finding whatever she had told him funny. I was curious how she described the entire thing, but my better judgement kept me from asking. She no doubt described it as though I was a raging asshole, but in her defense, I kind of was. So instead of inquiring, I raised my eyebrows skeptically and mounted my bike.

“Well, I guess I better get back before they all assumed I died.”

I turned the key in the ignition, the motor’s rumble echoing throughout the alley. Ethan half heartedly waved as I pulled away. No doubt it irritated him, and he would be more so when he realizes that I’m not heading back to the pack house. No, that was the last place that I needed to be right now.

I needed clarity; I need to formulate a plan of what to do now. That would not be possible with the lot of them swarming and checking up on me. I needed to go somewhere that I could just breathe and think. And I knew exactly where that place was. A place where I could be close to the danger that was haunting me.

The sun had finally gone down, and darkness filled the sky. Beautiful stars peppered the scene in front of me, lighting up the tops of the trees, leaving the rest of them pitch black. It was beautiful, peaceful. The darkness captivated me as I drove, and soon I was the only one on the road. The city streets now behind me, and an interminable stretch of highway before me, a long winding road that lead to the end of my land.

The shoreline now gone, and all that surrounded me was mountains and trees as the highway snaked around them, taking me straight to a dead end. I pulled my bike off to the side and got off. Taking in the cool night air. I turned to look up at the mountains and sighed before starting my long hike to the top. Carefully I weaved up the mountain’s side, listening to the sound of the crickets singing and the rustling of branches and leaves on the forest floor from other animals.

It was a lengthy journey to the top, the last time I made it all this way, all the way to the top, I was much younger than I am now, and it wasn’t from this side. The sun was rising when I made it to the very top, where the earth flattened and I could see it. The gigantic crack in the earth that separated what was my home, and what is my home. I watched as the sky glowed red above the trees, making my way over to the edge.

With my toes hanging off the edge, I stood, looking at the vast space between the two mountains. Watching the now rising sun light up the other side, leaving it to glow, unlike where I stood. They called these the dark hills for a reason, they were dark, cursed, lacking the beauty that the other side held. Even though over the years the d
arkness appealed to me, make me feel safe. I still remembered the almost magical aura of what used to be my home.

I swallowed hard, and for the first time in a very long time. I let thought consume me. I let the stillness take over my mind, and I finally stopped to think. What I found was darker than the depth of the drop in front of me. Colder than the frigid air that hits your face when you step outside in the middle of a blizzard. More frightening than watching a beast rip the head off of your friend right before you, knowing you can’t do anything about it.

What I found. Was myself? An ocean of jaded notions and hate. A bitter, reckless man with little no happiness left. A monster who had little regard for others. A man with no self control, who impulsively walked into hell without a second thought till it was all over. A man who somewhere along the way lost the innocence and joy of life, and now only saw the parts ignorance blocked out.

I took a step back, and fell to the ground, fisting my hair as I broke, tucking my face into my knees. “WHY!?” I screamed.

Begging to understand why I did it. How I could let myself lose control like that? How was she able to get under my skin like that? Why was it so easy for me to get lost in the pull, the urges, the feelings that coursed through me when she came close? Logically I knew that answer was simple, but I couldn’t seem to grasp it. I just could not wrap my mind around it.

“How could I fucking mark her?” I growled out in frustration.

“Because she’s a part of you.”

I lifted my head from my knees, only to see my mother sitting next to me, her hands clasped in her lap. She looked to me and smiled weakly. “Because you, and her, are two halves of one whole.”

She tilted her head back and sighed, basking in the vast sky for a moment before looking down to her hands that were fidgeting with themselves. I turned away from her, looking out at the line in front of us. Remembering the last time we had been here together. Remembering her struggling to stand after making the jump, desperately trying to muster up the strength to keep moving.
